Cascade Funding (formally Financial Support to Third Parties, FSTP) is a mechanism through which EU-funded project hubs — such as AI testing and experimentation facilities, IoT platforms, and robotics hubs — redistribute a portion of their EU grant to third-party startups and SMEs via open competitive calls. Grant sizes are typically €5K–€200K. Each hub runs its own call with its own scope (tied to the hub’s technology focus), timeline, and eligibility criteria. Applications are submitted directly to the individual hub, not to the European Commission.
