ESA Business Incubation Centres (BIC) are operated by the European Space Agency across 20+ sites in Europe (Austria, Belgium, Germany, Spain, Finland, France, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, UK, and others). Each national BIC provides cash grants (€50K–€250K depending on the country), access to ESA technology, expertise, and facilities, plus business support over a 2-year incubation period. Startups must be developing downstream satellite applications (e.g., Earth observation data services, navigation, telecommunications) or spin-ins that apply space technology to non-space markets. Applications go through the relevant national BIC.
